Door Restoration & Repainting

Overview

Older doors are often worth saving. With the old finish removed, repairs made and a fresh coat of paint, a tired door can look better than a new one.

These photographs show a glazed hardwood door before and after stripping back to bare timber, a back door repainted in deep teal, and a glazed door finished in soft grey-green.

Our own work. The photographs on this page show work carried out by GROUNDWRKS.

What the work involves

Work of this kind includes stripping old paint and varnish, sanding, filling and repairing timber, priming, and applying hard-wearing finish coats to both faces and the edges.

Doors can be restored in place or taken down and worked on, depending on the door and the finish required.
